(Or, skip down to the details.)

Maybe this feels familiar:

  • You're either too busy or not busy enough, and you can't seem to find a comfortable spot in the middle
  • The tools, coaches, and consultants you've hired to help you get to the next level seem cool, but the results just aren't happening
  • You use delegation, avoidance, or overwork to consciously or subconsciously avoid parts of your job that you are not comfortable with
  • You've got a real passion for what your organization could become, but you're not there yet and you're out of ideas for how to get there

…And all of it is harder because you’re doing it by yourself.

Let me tell you, I have been there and I want to help.

Everyone's journey is different, but I do know what to pack, what to leave behind, and how to navigate. That’s the benefit of running with the herd.

Not Sure If This Is For You?

Buffalo Collective isn't for everyone. We have a specific way of showing up for each other and our businesses. Read our community guidelines doc to see if it resonates.

If you're nodding along thinking "yes, this is how I want to be!" then, yay! Keep reading!

I’ve seen this thing from so many angles

Why me? Why now? Listen to me talk about how Buffalo Collective was born.

Over the past decade I have worked with literally hundreds of for profit and nonprofit organizations led by founders who are women, queer, or people of color. They hired me because they were “too busy to do marketing,” or simply didn’t know what marketing to do. At least, that’s what they said.

You know what’s nuts? I was exactly the same. The best marketing that ever got done for my own business was when I had the money to pay someone else to do it. I could generate the ideas, but consistently publishing felt impossible, so I outsourced it.

Layering my “it’s an offer, not an ask,” philosophy on top of our unspoken fears did little to help me or my clients. We had all the tools, strategy, and knowledge we needed, but something still held us back.

Now, thanks to lots and lots and lots of deep healing work, I have a clear understanding of what was actually happening: Like most of my clients, I’d been conditioned since birth to be satisfied with what I was given. Ambition, desire for attention, fame, or influence were worse than bad–they were UNATTRACTIVE and risked making me UNLIKABLE.

What a load of hot, steaming garbage. Being a solo consultant made it even worse because that crap just bounced around in my brain UNCHECKED. I had no one to hold up the mirror, tell me the truth, or validate my achievements, so the subconscious fears got the better of me. For years.

Now I get it. We’re not supposed to do this alone. Our paleolithic-era brains were NOT built for this!

You know what we need? We need HELP. We’re supposed to be working together. All. The. Time.

We need help because that’s the only way we can ever become the self-actualized, impactful, connected humans we are supposed to be. Buffalo Collective is that help.

Reclaiming “Herd Mentality”

You want your business to be successful, but more than that, you want to create real impact and abundance for your team, your customers, your family, and our planet.

It takes great courage to become an integrated leader.

Integrated leaders don’t compartmentalize or agonize. Instead, they:

  • Bravely examine their own fears and blind spots so they can address them strategically (instead of unknowingly letting them run the show)
  • Understand their personal relationship to power, money, and work (so their natural gifts work for them)
  • Communicate authentically and bravely (because performance is exhausting and out of integrity)
  • Build from abundance and collaboration (not scarcity and competition)

Most importantly, integrated leaders thrive.

And here's what nobody tells you: You can't become integrated alone.

You need people who can see what you can't see about yourself. You need accountability that actually works. You need support that understands the unique challenges of solo leadership.

You need a herd.

Structure, Support, and Self-Acceptance (with Optional Psychedlics)

You shouldn’t be isolated just because you work alone.

Because we are the go-getters, the independent thinkers, the overachievers that we are, it’s too easy for us to ignore the emotional labor of managing ourselves within our business. We are so capable and we can do SO MANY things, but we have taken it for granted that we have to do them alone.

But buffalo see a storm on the horizon and RUN INTO IT TOGETHER.

When you join Buffalo Collective, you get all the benefits of running with a herd:

  • Strength
  • Safety
  • Courage
  • Direction
  • Progress

Except we’re not roaming across the Blackfoot Nation or the Crow ancestral homelands. We’re running businesses that work because of our modern technology, so this is what it looks like in practice:

For $150/month, Herd members get:

…always on connection and encouragement in our Slack community, so you never feel like you’re working alone:

  • Daily scrum-style planning check ins (start your day with intention)
  • Weekly goal setting, reflection, and celebrations (close the loops)
  • Lots of channels for ongoing, asynchronous support and resource sharing (you have help!)

…opt-in structure and accountability  to increase productivity and make real progress:

  • Virtual coworking sessions on zoom (2-3 a week)
  • Topic-specific office hours for ad hoc problem solving and resource sharing
  • Social media posting, accountability, and amplification

…the wisdom of the herd in our monthly small group gatherings.

Every member benefits from the experience and insight of the rest of their herd, where they can bring a question, an obstacle, or a goal to the group. Together, we’ll share our insights, ideas, experiences and tools in an effort to help each other get where we want to go.

…invitations to do deeper work through non-ordinary states.

We'll offer regular retreat invitations for members ready to explore consciousness-expanding practices—psilocybin journeys, breathwork, and somatic exercise.

Why? Because some breakthroughs happen faster when you address root causes, not just symptoms. Healing old wounds, recognizing subconscious limitations, finding radical self-acceptance—these shifts accelerate integration.

Always optional. Always in community. Always with proper preparation and support.

…and more support as we grow.

The community will expand in directions that serve members best. Likely additions: vendor/customer matchmaking, member directory, negotiated group discounts, book clubs, and other personal and professional development support.

Buffalo Collective Is NOT:

❌ Education for aspiring entrepreneurs ❌ Another course you won't finish ❌ A coach telling you what to do ❌ A networking group focused on transactional referrals ❌ A psychedelic retreat disguised as business support

Buffalo Collective IS:

✅ A team of like-minded peers who show up for each other ✅ Accountability that you can't give yourself ✅ Human connection with folks who get what you're trying to do ✅ Committed to your growth, thriving, and impact

Think of us as a running club, but for lone leaders. You can hire a coach or a personal trainer who sits next to you and makes you do the work, and those are great, BUT we still have to do a bunch of training on our own–that’s Buffalo Collective. Show up, and you’ll run farther faster because of the energy and support of your herd.

$150/month is less than:

  • One therapy session ($200+)
  • One business coaching call ($300+)
  • Leadership-focused mastermind communities ($1,000+)

But you get: Daily accountability, weekly coworking and office hours, monthly deep work with your small group, and access to collective wisdom from service-based entrepreneurs who get it.

Not everyone is a Buffalo, and that’s okay

You’ll know you are a Buffalo if:

  • You are really feeling the isolation of being a solopreneur or lone leader running a purpose-driven business
  • You understand that as a leader, your self awareness and emotional well-being has a significant impact on the well-being of your business and all of its constituents
  • You've gotten pretty good results from talk therapy, business coaches, and other conventional business and personal growth tools - but you have a bigger vision for yourself or your business
  • You’re willing to generously share your wisdom, experiences, and struggles (personal, financial, and career) with a small group of like-minded business leaders
  • You are ready to invest time, intention, and energy in facilitating a breakthrough

Before you even consider logistics, read How to Buffalo, our nine community guidelines that clarify how we show up for each other.

If the guidelines make you uncomfortable, you’re probably not ready yet:

  • You only feel comfortable when you’re giving more than you take, and "asking boldly" gives you heart palpitations (#2)
  • You want to keep “I didn’t have time,” as an excuse for not doing something you know you should prioritize (#5)
  • You’re not sure you’re ready to accept challenging feedback, even when it’s delivered with kindness (#8)

Not quite sure? Let’s talk!

  1. Use this link to schedule a 20-minute curiosity call. We'll talk about the guidelines, you can ask questions (yes, even about psychedelics), and we'll both assess fit. No obligation, just mutual clarity.
  2. If it's a yes, you're insubscribe here and you'll get all the information about what to expect and when.
  3. January 5th: Meet your herd for the first time for an optional co-working planning session
  4. Week of January 19th: First Herd Gatherings—you bring your first challenge to the group

You might have a few more questions...

Do I have to take magic mushrooms?

No. Medicines are always optional. Some members will explore them, others won't.

What if I want to take magic mushrooms?

Our first Buffalo Collective Healing Retreat will be in central Wisconsin in April, 2026. If you want to be on the invite list, please make sure you subscribe here for updates.

What's the time commitment for Herd members?

You will get what you give in this community, but the monthly Herd Gatherings are 4 hours each with about an hour of prep work each time. There are no additional structured commitments, but whatever time you spend setting goals, encouraging others, and engaging with our community should be a net gain for you and your business.

What if I can't make a Herd Gathering?

You'll get a summary of the discussion for your review. Gatherings will be scheduled thoughtfully, but they won't change much to ensure that attendance is consistent. Remember, the Herd needs you as much as you need them!

How long am I committed to my herd?

Honestly, that's up to you. This is a new idea and we still have a lot to figure out, so right now there are no restrictions and you can quit at any time.

Is this therapy?

No. We're peers, not practitioners. This is a trusted circle of people who are also working towards integration, so the conversations might be tough, but they are not a substitute for clinical support.
