Welcome, friend

I'm so glad you're here, and I'm guessing you're pretty curious about how the heck I ended up here. I'm happy to tell you!

In 2021, I had been seeing the same therapist, quite successfully, for a dozen years. She had helped me through and out of a marriage with someone who unknowingly triggered old wounds created by my family. She helped me understand more clearly who I was, what I wanted, and what kind of person I wanted to be.

I was in a new relationship and he was eager to share something with me that I had rejected as a younger woman, the Phish from Vermont. Although the band and the guy turned out to be two of the most significant relationships of my life, they provided the context for something even more powerful: My first mushroom trip since college.

Standing for three hours under the tented peaks of Shoreline Amphitheater, I felt like I had just experienced the benefit of a decade of talk therapy. I didn’t just learn–I understood, I accepted, I healed, and I forgave.

Ever since then, I’ve been fascinated by the therapeutic application of psychedelics. If talk therapy is like making your student loan payments, a little bit at a time, over months and years, then psychedelics can work like student debt forgiveness.

As marketing consulting became both less professionally and financially rewarding, I started looking around for my next chapter. I have come to understand that where my deep passion for supporting entrepreneurs and my strong commitment to mental health overlap is my ikigai

My intention is to build Buffalo Collective into an inclusive community of individuals who want to share the unique qualities of American Bison. They trust their strength and they stick with their herd, so that they can charge with confidence directly into the storm, knowing that it will pass more quickly for them because of their courage.

Even with support of partners, friends, therapists, colleagues, and employees, far too many of us are working alone. Being the only one in leadership, the only entrepreneur in the family, or the only one working to heal makes it so much harder than it needs to be.

Our small groups are built to end that isolation and make it easier for each of us to accomplish our goals. When paired with psychedelic healing retreats, I believe that Buffalo Collective can be the support system that people need to meet their full potential.

If psychedelics are entirely new to you, our content series Why Mushrooms? is a great place to start.

I am currently seeking collaborators who are experienced in leadership development, business coaching, clinical therapy, entrepreneurship support, and psychedelic facilitation. If this is you, please get in touch! lindsay@buffalocollective.co

Until then, keep up the good work!

Lindsay
